After establishing herself as a significant young director of new off-Broadway plays, Neugebauer debuted on Broadway last year with a revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s The Waverly Gallery. The show follows a grandson watching his grandmother slowly die from Alzheimer’s disease. Lonergan’s play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2001. Neugebauer’s revival was met with critical acclaim and stars Elaine may and Lucas Hedges. Other theater credits include Mary Page Marlowe, At Home at the Zoo/The Zoo Story, and The Wolves.

This new project follows Lawrence’s announcement over a year ago that she was taking a break from acting. Before taking a hiatus, Lawrence’s most recent credits also include Red Sparrow, Mother!, Passengers, and X-Men: Apocalypse. She will next be seen reprising her role as Mystique in Dark Phoenix, arriving in theaters on June 7.
